Fixed! The IE Bug and You…

FIXED – Internet Explorer Bug-Of-The-Day

Quick and easy…watch this video (about 1.5 minutes long) and paste in the commands listed below as shown.  For our managed clients, we’re doing this for you behind the scenes so don’t worry about it (we’ve got you covered!).  This works for Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, but you must have administrative rights to your computer for it to work.

The commands that need to be pasted in (as shown in the video) are these 2 bolded lines:

<copy below this>

regsvr32 -u -s “%CommonProgramFiles%Microsoft SharedVGXvgx.dll”
regsvr32 -u -s “%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%Microsoft SharedVGXvgx.dll”

<copy above this>

Press enter after the last one (as shown in the video).  Note that Windows XP does not have the “run as administrator” in the menu as shown (if you have admin rights to the computer, it’s already running as administrator!).

You may try to download the following “batch file” and run it instead of trying the copy-paste method, but your computer’s security settings (antivirus, policies, etc.) may not let it run or may accuse it of being a virus.  It’s not a virus, just a file containing the 2 lines above.  It doesn’t hurt to try, but pasting the above is the most likely way to get this change applied to your computer.  Download the batch file here.

If your business employees need any help, call or email us at support@coleinformatics.com and we’ll hop on their machine remotely to do this for them (or you!).

Terry was able to create whatever I’ve envisioned and even restored most of our data during a major server crash in 2009. I appreciate the work Terry and his team does. On more than one occasion, they have bent over backwards to get what needs to be done completed. Terry is better than anyone I have seen; no one has come close to his professionalism and the expertise he and his company provide. I highly recommend Terry to anyone needing help with IT at their business.”
